📏 Biometric Alignment
Your head height must occupy the precise limits required by each government entity. For example, in US passport photos, your chin to crown (hair top) must be between 1 inch and 1-3/8 inches (25mm to 35mm), representing 50% to 69% of the height. UK/EU specs mandate head heights between 29mm and 34mm.
🎨 Background Rules
Unlike standard ID card photos that allow colored backgrounds, international passports strictly require plain white or light off-white backdrops. There should be no patterns, textures, household objects, shadows, or background elements behind the head.
👤 Expression and Eyewear
Maintain a neutral expression with both eyes open and mouth closed. Smiling is generally not accepted for biometric matching. Eyeglasses must be removed for passport photos to prevent lens glare or frame shadowing. Keep your hair away from your face to avoid covering your eyes, eyebrows, or ears.
