Khmer New Year — A Three-Day National Festival
Khmer New Year (ចូលឆ្នាំខ្មែរ), also called Bon Chol Chhnam Thmey, is Cambodia's most celebrated traditional holiday. Observed every April 13–15 according to the Theravada Buddhist solar-lunar calendar, it marks the transition of the Cambodian Buddhist year and the beginning of the agricultural planting season.
The three-day celebration includes family reunions, offerings at pagodas, traditional games, water blessings, music, and the washing of Buddha statues.
